National Heritage

National Heritage @Delhi

School is a place where students discover themselves. They realize their potential and perfect the skills required to be responsible citizens of India. What is an individual without their roots? A student should connect to the roots and culture of India to discover themselves.

We at Adriel High school believe that they should know about their ancestors, where they came from, how they lived, their values, entertainment, unique skills, resource utilization, shortcomings, and how a diverse group came together to fight colonial rule, etc during their school life. Our curriculum integrates Indian heritage lessons into the curriculum throughout the year. Each year, they focus on a state of India and explore it over the course of academic session.

This year, various co-curricular activities, interhouse competitions, school display boards, dance, song, and art and craft activities centered around Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Students learned about flora and fauna, geographical features, the island's aboriginal tribes, its association with the National Freedom Movement, Cellular Jail, and its history.

Similarly, last year, Sikkim was the topic of the year. The school aims to cover all states of India so that students understand the rich cultural heritage of these areas, respecting the diversity of the country. As students learn the dance and song of the region, they inevitably pick up the local words and language.

Our school also integrates multiple art forms and cultural crafts of foreign countries . We try and incorporate one folk dance, song, art, and craft from any foreign country. The goal is for students to understand how India has adopted the cultural heritage of other parts of the world, embodying the Sanskrit phrase "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which means "The World Is One Family."

The school hopes that its students become the best global citizens of tomorrow, remaining lifelong learners and leading successful lives as confident individuals.

Pollution

The problem of environmental pollution has become very serious in recent years all over the world. Today, the air that we inhale is polluted. If we do not tackle the problem now, it can give a harmful effect to our future generation. No doubt, our progress and development is the result of industrial growth and technological advancement ,but this progress has a negative influence on the environment. Pollution makes the environment unfit for living. It has  become a health hazard.
Air pollution is one of the major ecological problems man is facing today. Air pollution is prominent in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata etc. where the smoke is emitted from the chimneys of mills and factories, burning agriculture stubble and noxious fumes from automobiles. Thus, air becomes polluted and we are bound to inhale such polluted air.
The capacity of lungs in children are very weak. This air pollution causes respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis. Our school announced online classes upto class 9th and it is affecting children's education. Just because of this pollution children are not able to go out and play outdoor games.

Vibhuti Gakkhar, V-A@delhi, Sept. 26, 2023

India, the land of diversity and rich heritage, is a nation that stands proudly on its soil, its matti. The connection between the people and the land runs deep, reflecting a bond that transcends time and space. “Meri Matti Mera Desh”.

Our matti, our soil, is the cradle of civilizations, the nurturer of life. From the towering Himalayas in the north to the sun-kissed beaches of the south, from the arid deserts of the west to the lush greenery of the east, our matti gives birth to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The verdant fields, the swaying crops, and the vibrant gardens are a tribute to the tireless efforts of our farmers who work day and night to feed the nation.

But it’s not just about agriculture. Our matti has gifted us with resources that have fueled progress and development. Moreover, our matti symbolizes unity. India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity, and just as the soil is made up of different elements, so is our society a harmonious blend of various cultures, languages, and religions. The diversity of our mati reflects the very essence of “Mera desh.”

In conclusion, “Meri Matti Mera Desh” is not just a phrase; it’s a sentiment, a declaration of our love for the land that has nourished us and the nation. Our matti embodies the soul of India, connecting us to our roots, our history, and our aspirations. As responsible citizens, it’s our duty to safeguard this precious resource and ensure that our “Mera desh” continues to thrive on the foundation of “Meri matti.”

Rakshabandhan with Indian Army

Vartika Nishad,III @DELHI, Sept. 7, 2023

I want to thank my school for giving me a lifetime memory on this Rakshabandhan. I went to Soldier Regiment near Delhi Cantonment with my classmates and teachers on August 28th to tie Rakhi on our soldiers hands.I was so pleased to see all of them. Everyone seemed quite firm and disciplined. I was overjoyed when all your brave soldiers kneel down to get rakhis tied. My  friends were likewise affixing Rakis to the wrists of our soldiers. Our army brothers also presented us with gifts. We had some cake, samosa jalebi made by Rajput Regiment cook. They were overjoyed, and I could see a smile on their faces. I will be eternally grateful to my soldier brothers who work around the clock, seven days a week. I wished we had more time with them.It was a pleasure to be in their company. Seeing them wearing those uniforms and badges also sparked a dream of becoming an IPS officer in my eyes.

Workshop by Delhi Police

Sakshi, VIIIA @Delhi

I have attended a workshop on 23th July 2023 led by Miss Bindu and Miss Om Sheela from Delhi Police. They told us about the cyber crime happening with today's generation. The topic was 'Responsible sexual behaviour'. She told us that most of the students are focusing and using social media instead of studies . A case was reported recently that a girl received a friend request from unknown person .  First she didn't accept the request then the unknown person  said that he was suffering from cancer .  So, she accepted the request but she didn't know that he was creating stories about his health issues . She was thinking that he was having cancer so he would die in one or two months . They started chatting on Facebook. After sometime he insisted on meeting her somewhere. The girl was having a boy friend earlier but she told she was going to meet her bestie . After some time the unknown person , the girl and her boyfriend met at the club . The unknown person mixed something poisonous in her boyfriend's wine, the moment he drank the wine , he died .
So, Miss Om Sheela told us not to use social media ,if we are using not to use too much and not to accept the request of any unknown person . They told us not to share our personal details with anyone, not even friends . They told us the child helpline number which is 1098 . They also introduced us to an application named 'Himmat Plus' app . When  in emergency we have to click on SOS  option provided in the app PCR will reaches the location within  3 minutes .
The experience of attending this workshop was excellent. Thank you miss Bindu and mis Om Sheela for sharing your precious time with us.

  • Experiencing the fight against                                                  covid-19... Lockdown time
Corona virus legitimately remains ulterior exclude under microscopic lens. This virus expand very quickly through water droplets and touches from the infected person and by the time victims come to know about them having been haunted by this invisible

The emotion faced by all is fear. It makes us anxious, panicky and can even possibly make us think, say or do things that we might not consider appropriate under normal circumstances

The emotional problems could be taken care by practicing slow breathing and stay away from negative thoughts. Try to make gap from the thoughts that making you afraid. You have to become soothing and slow down your mind too. Hanging at home is better during covid-19 ...may be it will boring or restricting, but we can make nice at staying home by catching our old hobbies, eating well for health and drinking plenty of fluids, being physically active by doing yoga and exercises, and keeping children busy by playing games or doing alot of activities with them.

Protect yourself by doing following things:
1. Stay home
2. Keep a safe distance
3. Wash your hands
4. Cover your cough
5. Sick? Call the helpline

Hope you all protect yourself and your family too.

  • Experiencing the fight against covid 19..Lockdown times

It's been a great quote that 'history repeats itself' and nowadays

we are witnessing the same thing, the coronavirus pandemic, as

Per to say

According to experts, the world hasn't seen anything like it since the

Second world war, not so surprising as this year2020,was marked with the Australian fires, the possibility of a world War 3 and the covid 19, itself.

Covid 19 is a respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirusSARS COV 2, it originated from a wet market in Wuhan, ChinaYou'll be surprised to know that there are seven types of different coronaviruses :- HKU1, NL63,  MERS, SARS COV, SARS COV 2, 22NE OC43This new coronavirus is called SARS COV 2 because it shares a few resemblances to an another

Coronavirus called 'SARS COV', who's outbreak occurred in 2002.

What makes it different is that it hasn't been seen before and so, we don't know much about it

More research is required as well as more testing.

It spreads from one person to another via small droplets, emitted when thaperson speaks, coughs, or sneezesThat's why doctors recommend us to wear a mask whenever we go outside and intrinsically, self quarantine us. These droplets travel up to 1 metres in air and then they fall on the ground

Self quarantine is the only option to save yourself from this illnessor if you're showing symptoms of this disease, then consult a doctorit's a must! But in the midst of this crisispeople still are creating rumours ( delusions) about it

I would recommend to please don't believe in anything which you come to know, just do the fact checking of the merit via google or a nearby doctor or the official website of W.H.O

The rising cases of covid 19 has desperated the government to lock down the entire nation

It's a great thing but it causes thousands or perhaps millions of labours, factory workers, basically people who earn everydayto a mass migration for their destination — their home.

Some of them died in the process

Well, this lockdown hasn't affected me a lot as I don't get out of my house a lot but still

there are somethings that can't do now — my anticipated movies of this year are delayed! & can't even go out to eat my favourite food. Most importantly, I can't even order any books or colored pencilsgraphite pencils ( 4B-10B) or a new sketchbookif I run out of their stock from Amazon.

Hence, I just sit and observe how things are going to turn out in the future.

Our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has started a lockdown 2.0 of 21 days.. So we should stay home and stay safe . Our country's warriors like doctors , policemen and sanitary workers are working hard to protect us. They requested us to stay at home and help them to stop covid 19...

After my online classes I watch TV or sometimes I play video games . After taking some rest I start doing homework and studies . After that I go to my terrace and I do fitness about 1 hour by running and doing exercises. Then I play cricket for sometime and I come down . Lockdown times!

I dont think that anyone of us have ever thought about such an epidemic which will spread soo fast in india and other neighbouring countries.
I know its being too difficult for some people to stay at home..
Few days ago i read somewhere that a man suspected of coronavirus attempted suicide..but believe me its very easy to protect ourself from this epidemic! We just need to take some simple steps towards our hygiene:
1 wash your hands and use sanitizers
2 do not meet people unless its very important
3 use masks and hand gloves
4 properly wash vegetables and milk packets when you bring them home
5 do not take stress..everything will be fine!
6 stay home

Many people said "we have nothing to do" i would suggest you all to clean your houses and sanitize them..to be very honest few days ago i cleaned up my room soo much that i was the only ugly thing left in it! And side by side i wrote many poems and also i did standup comedy and really it was a good timepass! So i would suggest you all few things which you can do during lockdown:
1 cooking
2 you can take online classes for dancing/singing
3 watch standups
4 write your own story/poem
5 spend time with your parents listening to there childhood stories.

Ending up with my words i would say..Being a teenager i can feel that its really very tough to control our legs and stay at home as we are in habbit of romaing here and there, meeting friends and enjoying our favourite street food. I think that each one of us is having a fear inside us of loosing our lives or our loved ones..but before stepping out remember the quote
The greatest compassion is the prevention of human suffering through patience, alertness, courage and kindness.  -Amit Ray
